Teaching Cleveland Learning Lab: Police Brutality & Youth-Police Interaction

Join Teaching Cleveland at Market Garden Brewery for the TCI Learning Lab. Explore content with local experts as we enjoy food, drinks, and conversation. Then, we’ll brainstorm, collect themes, curricular touch points, and lesson ideas from the group, which the Teaching Cleveland team will shape into lesson or unit outlines that will be shared with you, our community of teachers. We’ll provide snacks, a cash bar and the full market garden menu will be available.

POLICE BRUTALITY and YOUTH-POLICE INTERACTION with Ayesha Bell Hardaway of the Social Justice Law Center at CWRU. We will also provide the space for some conversation around police-youth interactions within schools, school district policies and the law around the obligations of teachers and administrators.

4:30 -- Registration and snacks: have a drink and get caught up with Teaching Cleveland (cash bar and full menu available)
5:00 -- 6:00 program begins: context-setting, speaker presentation, Q&A
6:00 -- 7:00 questions, brainstorm themes and curricular connections
7:00 --- adjourn (or stick around for one more!)
