Art collectors Fred and Laura Bidwell buy Van Roy Building to plant their flag in Cleveland

In a deal with big implications for the city’s cultural scene, art collectors and philanthropists Fred and Laura Bidwell of Peninsula have purchased the historic Van Roy Building at 2900 Detroit Ave. in Ohio City from developer Michael Chesler. The Bidwells plan to live on the third floor and rent the lower two floors of this 19th century building to cultural nonprofits.
