Christa Fitch, Manager of Town Hall

New to Ohio City, Town Hall offers a variety of fresh, healthy foods and juices along with an extensive selection of beer, wine and cocktails. The restaurant also offers three different restaurant experiences for guests, who  can enjoy their food in a casual cafe, full-service dining room or seated on the beautiful front or back patios.

After spending a few years in Florida, Cleveland native Christa Fitch returned home to open Town Hall. This isn’t Christa’s first time opening a restaurant, but this is her first time opening a restaurant in Ohio City. Along with being passionate about Town Hall, Christa is passionate about the Ohio City community and wants  Town Hall to add a unique component to the culture and excitement of the area.

Are you from the Cleveland area?
Yes, I grew up in Rocky River. I attended Bowling Green State University, lived in Southwest Florida for 3 years and now I’m back in the Cleveland area, living in Lakewood.

Did you always want to get involved in the restaurant business?

Yes, I worked at Liquid Planet when I was 16 and after I graduated from Bowling Green State University I opened a Fresh Planet franchise. I wanted to combine the concept of lighter, healthier food with a full service restaurant. For Town Hall, the idea was to create a brand of a quality lifestyle café for both the customer and the employees.

What are your favorite menu items at Town Hall?
I love the spicy curry chicken noodles, the quinoa and kale salad, and all the juices and milkshakes, especially the Citraberry milkshake.

What are some of your hobbies?
I really like yoga and I’m in the process of becoming certified to be a yoga instructor in July. I don’t have a lot of free time but I enjoy reading non-fiction. This summer I want to do paddle board yoga and get out on the lake.

What’s your favorite place in Ohio City?
Vision Yoga.

What are some things you’re looking forward to with Town Hall?
I’m looking forward to developing and growing relationships in Ohio City and in the City of Cleveland. Our partners (Fabio Salerno of Gusto and  Lago, Bobby George of Barley House and Sean Heineman of Ballantine and  Willoughby Brewing Co.) have other restaurants but Town Hall is the first restaurant in Ohio City. I’m also looking forward to holding various events such as brewery events. We want to contribute to West 25th and complement the other existing businesses.

What do you think sets Ohio City apart from other neighborhoods?
I heard recordings of my grandma talking about visiting the West Side Market and it made me realize how big and historic the market is to Ohio City. I think it’s unique that there’s so many different people living in the area and getting along. It’s a nice, little historic neighborhood.

Town Hall uses food from the West Side Market, correct?
Yes, we use a lot of food from the market and we buy from many different local farmers and vendors.

Town Hall is located at 1909 West 25th Street. Open daily for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. For more information, visit townhallohiocity.com.
