The Ohio City Farm, one of the largest contiguous urban farms in the United States at nearly six acres, exists to provide fresh, local and healthy food to Cleveland’s underserved residents, boost the local food economy, and educate the community about the importance of a complete food system. While it boasts stunning views of the Cleveland skyline, the farm is a welcome break in the typical urban landscape. Tennant's of the Ohio City Farm include the Re:Source Cleveland, the CMHA Green Team, and Great Lakes Brewing Company. The Farm Stand is open from 10am-1pm each Saturday from May-November.
Carnegie West branch in Ohio City is the largest branch of the Cleveland Public Library system. Carnegie West opened in 1910 and its architecture can be described as modified Renaissance with elements of classical style. The library is located in triangular site surrounded by a park. The library is home to a newly remodeled children's area, themed around the Ohio City Farm. The library regularly hosts an array of cost-free programming and classes for children and adults.
At Mason’s Creamery, they make small batches of handmade ice cream using the best ingredients they can source. The shop specializes in unique flavors and specialty items such as hand-pressed affogato, churro, cookie and macaron ice cream sandwiches, egg waffles, and ice cream sodas. The shop is covered with murals from local artists, and offers free scoops to neighborhood dogs.
